Ford made an announcement that they are extending their approved used car scheme which now includes vehicles of up to 5 years old. Only Ford cars that are dealer owned are qualified for the Approved status along with the conditions that the cars are fiver years old and they have covered less than 70,000 mi. This is part of the Ford Approved program which was first introduced way back in 1994. The said program is the automaker’s response to provide quality vehicles and better excellent services to their valuable customers and clients.
Many want to know what the warranty covers. The warranty period covers a two year unlimited mileage warranty. It covers any failure brought about by material defects in the original specifications. With the program, there are no restrictions on the number of claims. They also offer 2 years Ford assistance where you can get the following: roadside assistance, vehicle recovery and home assistance.
Ford approved vehicles will undergo a 160 point quality verification which will include the complete service history. They also come with other forms of assistance. According to Andrew Paton, Ford’s Approved project manager, "Ford Approved offers peace of mind on a number of levels…Buyers can be assured the car is of a suitable quality and they will be looked after by Ford Roadside Assistance and our dealer network."
In qualifying for the scheme, cars are checked with the National Mileage Register to ensure that they are financially cleared and that it is not a stolen or lost car. There is also an inspection by the representatives of Ford. The independent inspection is to be conducted by the RAC to ensure that the cars comply with the automakers original specifications. This will cover tool kit, service pack and spare keys. If there are replaced items, they should be approved by Ford.
If ever you want to change your Ford Direct vehicle, you can use the 30 day exchange plan. You can exchange it once within the initial 30 days or 1,000 mi. You will not have a hard time in exchanging the car.
